Stress Relief at The Harte of Chiropractic

When we talk, generally, of stress, we are talking about bad stress, distress.

Over a hundred years ago, Dr. D.D. Palmer, Founder of Chiropractic, in his old-fashioned languaging, cited three causes for Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC):

  1. “tramatism”… physical trauma
  2. “intoxication”… bad chemicals
  3. “autosuggestion”… the term, then, for stress

Yes, not only physical trauma can move bones in the spine and create subluxation; so can exposure to bad chemicals, and bad stress.

Physical Stress

Woman with arms outstretchedRepetitive motions (painting the ceiling), postural distortions (falling asleep with your neck twisted) and whiplash injuries from a car accident are physical stresses. So are slips and falls. Even being born!

Mental Stress

Ever faced an impossible deadline at work? Or grieved the loss of a loved one? Bills out of hand? Business, or job, not going well? Family problems? Notice the posture of someone who is depressed. Frustration, or a sense of powerlessness at work are common forms of emotional stress.

Chemical Stress

Today’s environment constantly assaults us with chemicals. Drugs ( including vaccines), prescribed and over-the-counter, preservatives, tobacco, excess alcohol, genetically modified foods, and a host of other substances can assault our nervous system.

What to Do?

We are all subject to all three kinds of stress, in the past, and, usually, in the present. All these stresses create Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC), which causes pain, disease and, in general, poor function, which creates more stress.

So, get your VSC corrected, and allow your body to heal. This, in tern, will allow you to deal with current stresses a lot better!
