THE AMAZING RE-APPEARING THYROID
This is about a practice member from about 20 years ago. (She had had it with medicine, since her otherwise healthy husband was killed with Lipitor (a popular statin, an anti-cholesterol drug)).
She had had her thyroid removed about 20 years before, for thyroid cancer. So she was on Levothroid, thyroid medication, for all that time.
About three months into her Intensive Care, this otherwise very sweet lady began to be very nasty! Couldn't sleep. Already thin, she began losing more weight. I figured out that, somehow, she became hyper (overactive) thyroid. So, she stopped her Levothroid, and became her very nice self again.
The question is… how did she become hyperthyroid with no thyroid? I don't know whether a small piece of her thyroid was left from her surgery, and became hyperfunctional, or the thing grew back. What In do know is that HER INNATE FOUND A WAY when she was adjusted.
When you encounter people who think that they have what they have, and "No one can do anything about my XYZ-osis..." KNOW that they are WRONG. Tell them the truth. Their doctors have used fear to control them. It is for you to offer them HOPE.
