WHY DO CHIROPRACTORS ADJUST THE SPINE?
Inside the spine is your nervous system, which controls and coordinates every cell, tissue, organ and system in your body, and adapts your body to its environment. If there is interference to your nervous system, from vertebrae misaligned and/or not moving properly, whether there is pain or not, your body will not function properly. Chiropractors adjust the spine in order to free your nervous system, allowing your body to heal, to function better! No drug, no surgery can do this!
IS CHIROPRACTIC THE BEST TREATMENT FOR BACK AND NECK PAIN?
Contrary to the claims of some confused chiropractors, Chiropractic is not a treatment for anything, including backache. We correct CAUSE, rather than cover up symptoms. But by our correction of Vertebral Subluxation Complex (interference), your body is able to get well, naturally. Despite not being a treatment for pain, you’ll find that correcting the CAUSE of the pain most often deals with the pain, better and safer than anything else!
DO THE PHYSICAL THERAPIES AND OTHER GADGETS THAT SOME CHIROPRACTORS USE HELP?
These things… from the old hot and cold devices, to the more modern laser treatments, disk decompression tables, shock therapy, vibration plates… are just playing, compared to the chiropractic adjustment, properly done, by hand only. The body needs not help, just no interference.
DO CHIROPRACTORS ONLY ADJUST THE SPINE?
Generally, yes. Most chiropractors only address the spine. But, here, at THE HARTE OF CHIROPRACTIC, I check and adjust, as necessary, extremities (shoulders, hands, knees, hips, etc.) and cranial bones (including the TMJ).
DO ADJUSTMENTS USUALLY INVOLVE TWISTING AND CRACKING?
Usually, yes. But at THE HARTE OF CHIROPRACTIC, The Harte Method is very gentle, very specific. No twisting, no cracking, here.
HOW FREQUENTLY SHOULD I SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?
Your schedule will be figured out for you, and explained, at your Report of Findings, your second visit. Chiropractic care is a process. Real change for real health takes time.
HOW MUCH WILL CHIROPRACTIC CARE COST?
There are three phases of care: Initial Intensive Care, Reconstructive Care and Wellness Care. Everyone begins with Initial Intensive Care. After your very extensive examination, neurological scans and X-rays on Day 1, I spend a great deal of time analyzing. When you come back for your Report of Findings on Day 2, I will be able to tell you exactly how long and how much your Initial Intensive Care will be. Pre-payment plans save substantially, as do families. You’ll know everything up front. No surprises.
IF I’VE HAD SPINAL SURGERY, CAN I STILL SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?

Yes, though many chiropractors who use rougher techniques might not accept you. Here, at THE HARTE OF CHIROPRACTIC, with my gentle and specific adjustments, I see people who have had spinal surgery all the time. And for people who have been told that they MUST have surgery, that they have no choice, I save them from surgery. (Exceptions are tumor and unstable fracture.)
WHAT IF I “TRIED CHIROPRACTIC BUT IT DIDN’T WORK?”
In my experience, when this happens, it is because the chiropractors you’ve been to were not doing Chiropractic. They were doing third-rate physical medicine. Usually, they are over-casual and under-scientific. You can expect the real thing here, delivered with passion!
WHAT DOES CHIROPRACTIC HAVE TO DO WITH MY OVERALL HEALTH?
Everything! This is why people come to me with all kinds of conditions (from heart conditions to balance to insomnia to urinary conditions to anxiety to IBS to uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure to chronic fatigue to hormonal problems), and they get well, naturally.
